Mosts parents out there want to do their children right, and taking them out to go catfish fishing is a great idea, but you should know these tips before you go. With this idea of having a good time with the kids, you’ll probably want to get a catfish bait that is going to produce the most strikes, not necessarily the bait that will produce the biggest fish. I’m not going to pull your chain here, because I know from first hand experience that using shad and perch are the best baits around for monster catfish. Blood bait has a strong odor that catfish love, and the bait will breakdown slowly as the bait sits in the water. This bait will begin to breakdown in the water, and will produce a trail of blood and scent that will direct catfish to your hook, and to your fun. I remember an afternoon I was fishing a stock tank with this bait, and it seemed we pulled in a ridiculous amount of catfish.

The second bait I want to tell you about is chicken livers. Chicken livers just tantalize catfish, because of the blood and scent it put in the water.
